Samsung and LG make great TVs, but their operating systems (Tizen and webOS) don't run Android apps. That means TiviMate, OTT Navigator and most of the popular players aren't available. You still have options, they're just different.
Option 1: Native smart TV players
Search your TV's app store for "IPTV". Depending on your region and TV model year, you'll typically find a few types:
- Activation-based players. Apps like Smart IPTV and similar charge a one-time activation linked to your TV. You upload your playlist through the developer's website using the TV's MAC address shown in the app.
- Login-based players. Some apps let you enter an Xtream login or M3U URL directly on the TV.
- Official service apps. If your IPTV comes from a licensed provider, check for their own app first. It'll be the smoothest option.
App availability varies a lot between countries and TV model years, and apps occasionally get removed from the stores. If you're buying a TV specifically for IPTV, check the app store for your exact model first.
Setting up an activation-based app
- Install the app from your TV's app store and open it.
- Note the MAC address it shows on screen.
- On a phone or computer, go to the developer's official website and find the playlist upload page.
- Enter the MAC address and your playlist URL (or upload the file), then submit.
- Restart the app on the TV. Your channels should appear.
Pay any activation fee only through the developer's official site.

Tips for smoother playback on smart TVs

- Turn off motion smoothing modes for live sports if they cause judder.
